Pedestrian movement over any floating dock surface can lead to a build-up of static electricity. Always exercise caution when handling gasoline and when refueling your watercraft. Boating safety experts recommend that portable gas tanks be re-fueled ashore, and that solid contact be maintained between the fuel intake pipe or tank and the spout while re-fueling in any location to prevent the build up of static electricity and possible sparks. Any brand of dock with plastic decking is not recommended for use as fuel docks.
